Electricity Canada welcomes today’s announcement outlining the first five designated projects to be referred to the Major Projects Office. This is a positive step towards accelerating the build out of the energy infrastructure Canadians need. However, as the government works toward advancing National Interest Projects, it is imperative that this done with the support of Indigenous rightsholders.
As Canada’s electricity demand is set to double over the next 25 years, Electricity Canada is pleased to see electricity infrastructure as a priority and looks forward to working with the government to accelerate the deployment of all electricity projects need to power Canada’s future.
